For day 19 of “21 Days, 21 Reasons Ken Cuccinelli is Too Extreme for Virginia,” the Democratic Party of Virginia today released a new video highlighting Cuccinelli's startling past comments demonizing AIDS education and awareness.
Later this week, Cuccinelli will be joined on the campaign trail in Virginia by Mike Huckabee, who shares Cuccinelli's outdated and divisive beliefs about the LGBT community and AIDS education. Cuccinelli's Tea Party ally, Mike Huckabee stated he believed it was necessary to quarantine patients diagnosed with HIV/AIDS, saying steps should be taken to "isolate the carriers of this plague." Huckabee refused to retract his statement, and later went on to emphasize his belief that homosexuality is a sin.
"Rather than focusing on creating jobs and opportunities for Virginians, Ken Cuccinelli has repeatedly pushed for extreme, divisive policies that do nothing to strengthen our Commonwealth. Virginia needs a governor who will create jobs and grow our economy, not one who focuses on attacking LGBT citizens," said DPVA spokesperson Brian Coy.
