2009 Central Committee Elections

The Democratic Party of Virginia adopted the Guidelines for the reorganization of the Party's State Central Committee and Steering Committee for the 2009-2013 term at the February Quarterly Meetings.

The plan formally describes the process of how the Democratic Party of Virginia will select its delegates to the 2009 Congressional District Conventions to be held on May 2, 9, or 16.

The allocation of delegates to the district conventions was devised by a formula that gives equal weight to population and to the average of the Democratic vote in the most recent elections for Governor, United States Senator, and the United States President. This formula was recommended and accepted at the February Quarterly Meetings as well.
