2008 Virginia State Democratic Convention
Every four years, the Democratic Party of Virginia gathers to finalize its delegation to the Democratic National Convention. This year's convention will take place at the Hampton Roads Convention Center in Hampton.
Delegates elected at local caucuses from all over the Commonwealth will assemble to elect 18 At-Large Delegates, 11 Pledged PLEOs, 2 Unpledged Add-On Delegates, 3 At-Large Alternates and 2 representatives to the Electoral College. Additionally, delegates will adopt a platform to define our Democratic values and energize our State Party.
The 2008 State Convention is poised to be one of the most exciting and entertaining political weekends of the year and you will not want to miss it! You'll hear from all our congressional candidates, General Assembly leaders, Senator Jim Webb, Governor Tim Kaine, and former Governor Mark Warner.
You don't have to be a delegate to attend - if you'd like to be a part of the weekend's festivities, simply fill out the form at the bottom of the page and let us know you'll be there. Seats will be limited.
There will be tons of fun events! Check out the schedule for details, or get a Unity Pass that includes a bunch of great opportunities to participate in State Convention Weekend!
