Inaugural Swearing-In Ceremony

The best source for official information about next year's inauguration can be found at http://inaugural.senate.gov. Below are other details from the Congressional Inaugural Committee.

A limited number of tickets to the Inaugural Swearing-In Ceremony, which will be held on January 20, 2009, will be distributed to each Congressional office by the Inaugural Committee. This is the only Inaugural event to which Congressional offices will receive tickets. Offices still has not learned how many tickets they will receive, or when the tickets will be made available for distribution. However, many have developed a waiting list for constituents interested in obtaining tickets. Please know that each office has received ticket requests for more than a year and have developed extensive waiting lists. A lottery or first come first serve basis has also been set up in various offices. Additionally, please note that the State Party office will have no role in the distribution of such tickets.

Protocol calls for individuals to reach out to their respecitve Congressional office to request tickets. Details from each office are listed below:

Inaugural Parade

The Inaugural Parade will be open to the public and does not require tickets. The Armed Forces Inaugural Committee will be accepting requests from individuals and groups who wish to participate in the parade.
