Dems get aggressive on the Peninsula
Over the weekend, Democratic volunteers and staffers went all over the state to drum up momentum for what they're calling the "Barack Obama - Mark Warner ticket."
And if the folks effectively made their cases, you could see some new voters, especially in Newport News and Hampton. The Peninsula should be a place where Republicans Jim Gilmore and John McCain do well, because of the region's anti-tax roots and military resume. But according to Democratic staffers, this is how the numbers broke down after Saturday.
Peninsula - 1,460 doors knocked
Southside - 1,203 doors knocked
Statewide - 18,217 doors knocked
It's still early in the campaign, but that's a lot of knocking.

Got to love Grassroots activism... reminds me to get off my butt...
