DPVA Announces 2012 Coordinated Campaign Director
The Democratic Party of Virginia today announced that Keren Charles Dongo will join the 2012 campaign to elect Democrats up and down the Virginia ballot as the Director of the Democratic Coordinated Campaign.
Dongo will direct the shared Democratic effort to re-elect President Barack Obama in Virginia, send Governor Tim Kaine to the U.S. Senate and elect Democratic congressional and local candidates in districts across the Commonwealth.
She joins the Democratic Party of Virginia with substantial Virginia and national experience, having served as the Political Director of Terry McAuliffe's 2009 gubernatorial campaign, the Outreach and Political Director of the 2008 Democratic Coordinated Campaign and as an adviser to U.S. Rep. Bobby Scott. Most recently she served as the Deputy Field Director of the ONE Campaign.
"Keren's energy, professionalism and her extensive Virginia and national experience suit her perfectly to lead the coordinated Democratic effort to turn Virginia blue in 2012," said DPVA Chairman Brian Moran. "The Democratic Party of Virginia is committed to building an unprecedented grassroots campaign in support of President Obama, Governor Kaine and the rest of our ticket, and today's announcement is a step in the right direction."
Dongo will manage a full coordinated campaign staff that will work to spread the Democratic message and get out the vote on behalf of Democratic candidates all across Virginia. Announcements about further coordinated campaign hires will be made in the near future.
