Announcing the DPVA "Proud to End Medicare with Paul Ryan and Eric Cantor"
Direct Mail Scavenger Hunt
- Can you find a Virginia Republican proudly supporting Paul Ryan and Eric Cantor's plan to end Medicare as we know it?-
Having party leaders in the national spotlight should be a huge advantage for any party during off-year elections, as candidates at the state level can bask in the reflected glory of leaders on Capitol Hill as they strive to end Medicare as we know it and balance the budget on the backs of the middle class. But for some reason, we can't find many Republicans running for the state Senate eager to associate with Republican leading lights Paul Ryan and Eric Cantor and endorse their plan to end Medicare as we know it.
That's why we're announcing the DPVA
"Proud to End Medicare with Ryan and Cantor" Direct Mail Scavenger Hunt!
The rules are simple.
Find any general election direct mail piece from a Virginia Republican running for the state Senate - or one from a Republican committee - that features that candidate's support for the Republican efforts to end Medicare as we know it and cut the budget on the backs of the middle class. Bonus points will be awarded if that mailer praises Cantor for holding disaster relief for Virginians hostage to Tea Party politics. (Note: Republican primary mail pieces do not count!)
Then scan it and email it to firstname.lastname@example.org or fax it to us at: 804-343-3642. The first qualifying mail piece in the door wins the prize, dinner for you and a friend with Chairman Brian Moran.
If no one can produce a winning mail piece by October 28th (which seems highly likely), we move on to phase two of the contest:
The first person to email or fax any mail piece from Republicans Dick Black, Miller Baker, Tom Garrett, Jeff Frederick, Ben Loyola, or Adam Light, congratulating right-wing presidential candidate and Bob McDonnell pal Rick Perry for calling Social Security a "Ponzi scheme" will win a prize pack.
The initial idea of this was to see how many Republican candidates had mail pieces that go on record advocating for the Ryan Medicare plan or simply the end of Medicare and Social Security, but then we remembered that Tea Partier Ben Loyola already said the Ryan Plan didn't go far enough and Adam Light is totally on board with the whole ending Medicare and Social Security thing. Thus, in order to win you must find it on a mail piece.
On your mark, get set, GO! The 'Proud to End Medicare with Ryan and Cantor Contest'
Direct Mail Scavenger Hunt has begun!
