Hi all,

When asked what itis I do, I answer, "I'm the DNC's Northern Virginia Regional Field Organizer working with the DPVA through the State Partnership Program, more popularly know as the "50-State-Strategy".

That's my standard introduction. What it translates into is that I'm essentially a facilitator. If its information you need, just ask. If you need a training session organized, let me know "when" and "where" and I'll help organize it. If you want to talk about issues, let's grab a coffee and you can have my undivided attention. I often tell folks that my job is as hard as local Democrats make it. I'm here to serve the party and good Democrats across the Commonwealth!

Now, if there are those occasional Independents and Republicans, I'm more than willing to spend time with them to discuss how we can get them behind our candidates. I grew up in Norfolk, VA when after elections, we saw our leaders come together and do what was best for the people, not what was best for any one particular party. I've realized that as our nation has become polarized, so too has our beloved Commonwealth.

I want to work toward good leadership in our cities and counties, in Richmond and in our nation's capital. When it comes right down to it, that means working so that Democrats get elected.

Prior to working within the electoral politics arena, I was a community organizer and headed a non-profit advocacy organization. I worked with folks with views that spanned the political spectrum. I always said, "The issues that we care about are not partisan issues."  And for us as Virginians, as Americans we have to solve them together and not use "divide and conquer" strategies often utilized by our opponents.

In order for us to elect good leadership, we'll have to pull together and get voters out to the polls in support of our candidates. I'm here to help facilitate that.

I look forward to working alongside our candidates, our local committees, our grassroots activists and allied organizations, in order that we maintain our forward progress toward a better Commonwealth and Country!

Cheers,

Joe Montano

Hi,
Two questions. 1. Is there an Obama campaign office in Arlington? 2. Is there an Obama-related group working for immigrant rights and for humane and just immigration policies?
Thank you,
Paula
