FIRST CONGRESSIONAL DISTRICT DEMOCRATIC COMMITTEE SELECTS PHILIP FORGIT AS NOMINEE

 

Richmond- Today, Saturday, November 10, 2007, Democrats quickly united around Philip Forgit  after the First Congressional District Democratic Committee selected him as its nominee to seek the First District Congressional seat held by Congresswoman Jo Anne Davis for the last six years.

Philip Forgit is a decorated Navy veteran of the Iraq War and a nationally recognized, award-winning teacher. He received the 2005 National Education Association Foundation Award for Teaching Excellence via satellite while serving in Iraq.

The special election is scheduled for December 11, 2007.
