On day 5 of "21 Days, 21 Reasons Ken Cuccinelli is too Extreme to Be Governor," the Democratic Party of Virginia released a new web video on legislation Cuccinelli introduced making it legal for Virginia employers to fire employees for speaking a language other than English at work, even if they are on break.
He also tried to legislate to prevent people who are fired over speaking another language from receiving unemployment benefits, and defended his bill as "common sense."
"Ken Cuccinelli's cruel attacks on hard working people are far too extreme for mainstream Virginia," said DPVA spokesman Brian Coy. "Instead of focusing on how to create jobs, grow our economy or make Virginia more welcoming, he has spent his career on divisive and dangerous policies that would set this Commonwealth backward. Virginians cannot afford a Governor who would rather demonize Virginians than bring everyone together to get results."
