Meet the Staff
David Mills, Executive Director
David began work as Executive Director in March of 2010. In the past he has served as Deputy Finance Director for Governor Tim Kaine (2004 – 2005), DPVA Finance Director (2006 -2008), Finance Director for Delegate Brian Moran’s campaign for Governor (2008 – 2009), Northern Virginia Finance Director for Senator Creigh Deeds (2009), and as the manager of campaigns for the Virginia state legislature and Congress. He lives in Richmond with his wife Jennifer and his son Jackson.

Brian Coy, Communications Director
Starting in November, 2010, Brian will come to the DPVA with a background in Virginia and national campaigns. Brian got his start in Virginia politics as a field organizer in Chap Petersen's successful 2007 State Senate campaign. Since then he has served numerous organizations and campaigns as a communications consultant or a staffer, including Tim Kaine's political action committee Moving Virginia Forward, Steve Shannon's 2009 bid for Attorney General and Ned Lamont's campaign for Connecticut governor. Originally from Woodbridge, VA, Brian is a graduate of James Madison University and an avid fan of the Washington Redskins. He and his wife Holly live in Richmond, VA.

Brenner Tobe, Deputy Executive Director, Information and Technology
Brenner has been working to help elect Democrats for the past 20 years. Having served as the State IT Advisor for the DNC, Brenner came to Virginia in 2001 to implement one of the first statewide online voter files in the country for Mark Warner’s campaign. Since then he has continued to bring new and innovative and technological tools to help our candidates meet the changing demands of today’s campaigns. Brenner lives in Richmond with his wife Kelly, and daughters Caroline, Isabelle, and Annika.

Allison Lawrence Jones, Finance Director
Allison is a native of Richmond, Virginia. She was previously employed by the House Democratic Caucus for over 4 years as its Deputy Director. Allison has been an active volunteer in the community for over 14 years. In her spare time she enjoys fishing, boating, traveling, gardening and playing golf. Her favorite football team is the Pittsburgh Steelers. She currently lives in Richmond with her husband Robert, and two bonus children, Breyauna and Isaiah.
