Meet the Staff
Lauren Harmon, Executive Director
Lauren Harmon joined the Democratic Party of Virginia in February of 2013. She brings with her years of fundraising and campaign experience from the Southwest and Ohio. After getting her start running field programs in Republican districts, Lauren went on to lobby on behalf of and manage a statewide Building Trades Political Action Committee. She later served as Senior Deputy Finance Director for the Arizona Democratic Party. Lauren has managed campaigns from city council to Attorney General, and most recently served as Deputy Political Director, Statewide Women's Caucus Director, and Final Push Finance Coordinator for the Ohio Democratic Party.

Brian Coy, Communications Director
Brian Coy started with the DPVA in November of 2010. He got his start in Virginia politics as a field organizer in Chap Petersen's successful 2007 State Senate campaign. Since then he has served numerous organizations and campaigns as a communications consultant or a staffer, including Tim Kaine's political action committee Moving Virginia Forward, Steve Shannon's 2009 bid for Attorney General and Ned Lamont's campaign for Connecticut governor. Originally from Woodbridge, VA, Brian is a graduate of James Madison University and an avid fan of the Washington Redskins. He and his wife Holly live in Richmond, VA.

Ashley Bauman, Press Secretary
Ashley joined the DPVA in August of 2011. She got her start in politics during John Kerry's 2004 Presidential race in Florida and went on to work multiple statewide races in the state as well as President Barack Obama's successful Presidential which landed him 27 electoral votes in Florida alone. Most recently Ashley worked as Florida Press Secretary for Organizing for America, a special project of the Democratic National Committee. Originally from Naples, FL, Ashley is a graduate from University of Florida and a die hard Florida Gator fan.

Brenner Tobe, Director of Information and Technology
Brenner has been working to help elect Democrats for the past 20 years. Having served as the State IT Advisor for the DNC, Brenner came to Virginia in 2001 to implement one of the first statewide online voter files in the country for Mark Warner’s campaign. Since then he has continued to bring new and innovative and technological tools to help our candidates meet the changing demands of today’s campaigns. Brenner lives in Richmond with his wife Kelly, and daughters Caroline, Isabelle, and Annika.

Ashley Roseboro, Operations Director
Ashley is the Operations Director for the Democratic Party of Virginia. Before joining the DPVA, he managed the Purchasing and Procurement department at the St. Louis County Board of Elections, served Compliance Director for Claire McCaskill’s successful campaign for U.S. Senate, and managed several state and local races in Missouri. Originally from Greensboro, NC Ashley has an undergraduate degree in Political Science, Vocal Performance, and Sociology from Greensboro College and a Masters’ degree in Criminal Justice from Boston University.

Clark Mercer, Political Director
A native of Alexandria, Clark formerly served as the Chair of the Alexandria Democratic Committee, campaign manager to Mayor Bill Euille, a member of the city's Parks and Recreation Commission, and was a co-founder of the Alexandria Young Democrats. Clark served as the Deputy Policy and Research Director on Mark Warner's 2008 Senate campaign, where he also led the campaign's Sportsmen for Warner effort.
Most recently, he worked as a professional staff member on the Commission on Wartime Contracting, a Congressional commission co-sponsored by Senator Jim Webb. With family originally from the Northern Neck, Clark is an oyster enthusiast and co-owns a small oyster company based on the Eastern Shore of Virginia. Clark holds a master's degree in public policy from the George Washington University and an undergraduate degree in American Studies from Yale University. His wife, Kelly, and son, Everett, live in Ashland.

Monica Wiley, Staff Administrator
Monica Wiley began her career in Politics as a Political Outreach Organizer for the 2008 Coordinated Campaign. She was the only paid Organizer with a disAbility. After the campaign, Miss Wiley served as Field Organizer with President Obama’s grassroots organization, Organizing for America in the Greater Richmond Area. Miss Wiley served as President of the disAbility Issues Caucus (2010-2012). Miss Wiley loves to shop and travel. Miss Wiley is a graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University.
